Sicor, headed by Doctor Giuseppe Corrente, was founded in 1997 with the scope of advanced scientific research, continuous updating on periodontal issues and making fellow doctors aware of the newest operating techniques.
Originally established to capture the many clinical experiences made by Dr. Corrente and his staff in the field of Dentistry, over time Sicor has broadened its range of interest to other aspects of medicine in general.
The philosophy and guideline of this teaching organization in collecting the daily activities of a dental office, is the cross-disciplinary aspect: Periodontology, Implantology, Prosthetic Restoration, Endodontics, and Orthodontics are not self-standing disciplines. They need to work in synergy, in order to achieve the best clinical results.
Our Italian teachers alternate with foreign teachers, for a constructive educational confrontation and to guarantee a consistent update on the most recent operating procedures.
Over the last few years the ongoing scientific research has lead to the achievement of goals in the clinical periodontal field that were considered unattainable in the past.
However, this progress has often lead to a net division between super-specialists and general dental practitioners. Believing that the most advanced concepts and techniques can and must bring added value to those who have to face this type of issues every day, we have tried to base all our professional courses on their actual practicality and applicability, thus maintaining a rigorous scientific basis. In other words, our goal is continuous improvement.
All our programs have a biological approach to periodontology, as the common denominator and focal point of each dental discipline.
The theory is combined with practice, thanks to one of the most advanced technological systems for showing the surgical operations live in our congress room. Video cameras connected to modern operating microscopes, with zoom lenses, allow for the best detailed view of the operating techniques being used.
Each one of the 30 seats in the room is equipped with independent lighting, headphones for simultaneous translation, and a microphone. Furthermore, for courses including practice, the participants can use our dedicated operating rooms.
